About this coloring page
A glass snow globe sits on a trapezoid base with two bands across it. Inside the globe stands a little two-tier Christmas tree with a star on top and a small trunk, rising from a curved mound of snow. Round snowflakes float all around the tree, and a sparkle shines on each side of the globe.
There is a scene inside a scene here, which children often find delightful. The tree tiers and snow dots are small, and the glass dome around them is a large space that can be left mostly white or tinted a pale blue.
Color ideas
- Tint the inside of the globe a very pale blue and leave the snowflake dots white.
- Color the little tree green with a yellow star, and the snowy ground white with a blue shadow.
- Make the base a wooden brown or a shiny red, with the two bands in gold.
Did you know?
- Snow globes have been made in Europe since the 1800s.
- The snow inside is usually tiny bits of white plastic floating in water, often with something added to make the flakes fall more slowly.
Try this
Shake a clear jar of water with a pinch of glitter inside, and watch how slowly the sparkles settle, just like the snow in the drawing.
