Stars & Shapes Coloring Pages

This set gathers things you can spot when you look up, along with a few favorite shapes. There's a smiling star, a shooting star, a crescent moon, a sunny face, a rainbow, a rain cloud and a kite, plus pages of nested hearts, four shape friends and a star mandala.

Nearly every page is built from big, bold outlines, which makes this a good set for toddlers and preschoolers who are just getting the hang of crayons. The star mandala is the exception, with lots of small sections for older kids who enjoy careful, patient coloring.

These pages also open the door to easy science and early learning. You can talk about day and night, count rays and raindrops, name shapes and corners, or step outside afterward to look for the real Moon, clouds and maybe even a rainbow.

Tips for coloring stars & shapes

  • For a glowing star or sun, color the whole shape yellow, then add a band of orange just inside the outline.
  • Night pages look magical with a dark background. Color around the stars and moon with navy or deep purple and leave them bright.
  • Rainbows look most real when each band follows the order seen in the sky, with red on the outside, then orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.
  • On the shape pages, use one color per shape and say its name as you go. It's an easy way to practice shapes and colors at the same time.
