Rainbow and Clouds Coloring Page

EasyAges 3+Big, open shapes - good for a first crayon.

Four clean bands resting on two clouds - the easiest page to get right.

Getting the page ready…

Pick a color, then tap inside any shape to fill it. Use the brush for the open areas and the eraser to take color back off.

About this coloring page

Four wide bands curve into a rainbow arch, each one closed off at the bottom, and the two ends rest on small puffy clouds. There's nothing else on the page, so the rainbow is the whole picture.

Every band is wide and fully outlined, which makes this one of the easiest pages to color neatly. It's also a natural way to practice color names and their order, one band at a time.

Color ideas

  • Color the outer band red, then work inward with orange, yellow and green, following the order of a real rainbow.
  • Leave the two clouds white, but add a light gray or blue line along their bottoms to make them look puffy.
  • Color the narrow archway inside the smallest band a pale sky blue.

Did you know?

  • A rainbow appears when sunlight shines through raindrops. To see one, the Sun needs to be behind you and the rain in front of you.
  • In a rainbow, red is always on the outside of the arch and violet is on the inside.
  • From an airplane, a rainbow can sometimes be seen as a full circle instead of an arch.

Try this

Name the four colors your child picked, then look around the room together and find one object that matches each band.
