About this coloring page
Three hearts sit one inside another in the middle of the page, like ripples spreading out. A small heart fills each corner, and curling swirl lines frame the sides, two near the top and two lower down.
The nested hearts make natural rings for coloring in layers, from the outside in. The four corner hearts are small but simple, so they're good for practicing control after the big shapes are finished.
Color ideas
- Color the three nested hearts from dark to light: deep red on the outside, then pink, then pale pink in the center.
- Make each corner heart a different color, and use the same four colors to trace the swirls.
- Go over the curling swirl lines with a glitter crayon or a bright marker so they stand out.
Did you know?
- The heart shape we draw doesn't look much like a real heart, which is a muscle about the size of your fist.
- An adult's heart beats about 100,000 times a day, and a child's heart beats even faster.
Try this
Help your child find their heartbeat on the side of their neck or wrist. Count the beats for ten seconds, then do ten jumping jacks and count again.
