About this coloring page

A large seven-pointed star holds a ring of eight oval petals, and inside that ring sits a small five-pointed star. Little circles are placed along the arms of the big star, one in the top point and four more out toward the sides.

This is the most detailed page in the set, with many small enclosed spaces between the petals and the star points. It rewards patience and a sharp colored pencil, and the repeating design makes it calming to color one section at a time.

Color ideas

  • Color the eight oval petals in a repeating pattern of two or three colors around the ring.
  • Make the small five-pointed star in the center gold, and the circle around it deep blue so it shines.
  • Fill the seven big points with a fade, darkest near the center and lightest at the tips.

Did you know?

  • The word "mandala" comes from Sanskrit, an ancient language of India, and means "circle."
  • Tibetan Buddhist monks sometimes spend days making detailed mandalas out of colored sand, then sweep them away as a reminder that nothing lasts forever.
  • A star with seven points is called a heptagram.

Try this

Count the points on the big star and on the little one inside it. Which has more, and by how many? Then count the oval petals in the ring.
