Fairies Coloring Pages
This set mixes fairies with the tiny places they might call home. There's a garden fairy beside a flower, a fairy holding a star-tipped wand, one perched on a leaf, one greeting a butterfly and a pixie carrying a lantern. Alongside them are a spotted mushroom house, a little door in a tree trunk, a treehouse with a ladder and a ring of toadstools.
Most pages use big, simple shapes that suit preschoolers, while the fairy door, the fairy ring and the treehouse have more small parts for children who like a bit of a challenge. The homes are especially good for storytelling: who lives behind that door, and what is the lantern for?
Fairy pages pair nicely with time outdoors. After coloring, take a walk and look for leaves, mushrooms, flowers and hollow tree roots where a fairy might live, just remembering to look and not touch when it comes to wild mushrooms.

Tips for coloring fairies
- Fairy wings look delicate when colored very lightly. Try pale blue or lilac and leave some white paper showing so they seem see-through.
- To make a lantern or wand glow, color the center yellow, add a ring of orange around it, and then shade a soft yellow halo just outside the outline.
- Storybook toadstools are classically red with white spots, and the easiest way to get that look is to color the cap and simply skip the spots.
- Choose a woodland palette of mossy greens, bark browns and petal pinks so the fairy homes look as if they grew right out of the forest floor.
