About this coloring page
A big five-pointed star fills the page with a cheerful face in the middle: two dot eyes, a wide smile and curved marks for cheeks.
With one large shape and a simple face, this is a gentle starting page for toddlers. The five points are also good practice for coloring into corners, which takes a bit more control than filling a circle.
Color ideas
- Color the star warm yellow and darken each of the five points with orange so it looks like it's shining.
- Add a little pink over the curved cheek marks for rosy cheeks.
- Leave a small white sliver near the top point uncolored so the star looks like it is catching the light.
Did you know?
- Real stars are huge balls of hot, glowing gas. The Sun is the closest star to Earth.
- The first bright "star" you see in the evening is often the planet Venus, which can shine brightly in the west soon after sunset.
Try this
Say the rhyme "Star light, star bright" together. Then ask your child to whisper a wish to the star and draw something about that wish in the background.
