Fish & Sea Life Coloring Pages

This set dives under the waves. There are a few true fish – a round friendly fish, a clownfish and a seahorse – and a mix of other sea creatures: an octopus, a whale, a sea turtle, a jellyfish, a crab, a dolphin, and a sea star resting on the sand with two shells.

Most pages are made of big, friendly shapes with smiling faces, so they suit preschoolers and early elementary children. The sea turtle's shell and the seahorse's long curling body give slightly older children something more careful to do.

Because the animals are so different, these pages are handy for sorting games. Which ones are fish? Which breathe air like we do? Which have shells, arms or fins? Coloring the whole set gives you an underwater family to talk about, and the ocean itself makes a chance to try blues and greens beyond the usual crayon box favorites.

Tips for coloring fish & sea life

  • Color the water last, using light blue near the top of the page and deeper blue toward the bottom to show the ocean getting darker as it gets deeper.
  • Leave a small white spot in each eye and on shiny parts like bubbles. It makes sea creatures look wet and bright.
  • Bubbles look best when they are left white or colored very pale blue, with a darker edge on one side.
  • Many sea animals are camouflaged, but coloring pages are a place for fun. Try a realistic version and a rainbow version of the same page and compare them.
