About this coloring page

A jellyfish floats with a smooth, domed bell decorated with three round spots. A row of scallops runs along the bottom edge of the bell, and five long, wavy tentacles hang down below. Small bubbles drift on both sides.

The bell is a big, open shape that takes color well, and the five scallops along its edge add a small, neat detail. The tentacles are single lines, so they can be traced over in a bright color.

Color ideas

  • Color the bell a soft pink or lilac and the three spots a deeper shade of the same color.
  • Make the row of scallops along the bottom of the bell a contrasting color, like white against purple.
  • Trace the five tentacles in light blue and color the background a dark navy so the jellyfish seems to glow.

Did you know?

  • Jellyfish have no brain, no heart and no bones, and their bodies are mostly water.
  • Jellyfish tentacles have tiny stinging cells, so it is best never to touch one, even on the beach.
  • Jellyfish have been drifting through the oceans since long before the dinosaurs.

Try this

Pretend to be a jellyfish: open and close your hands slowly to copy the way a jellyfish's bell pushes it through the water.
