About this coloring page
A butterfly is drawn from above with all four wings open. Each wing holds one round spot, a long oval body runs down the middle, and two thin antennae curve up from the head. A short line marks each upper wing.
The wings are big rounded shapes, so this is a relaxed page for small hands. Where the wings meet the body there are a few small overlap spaces; younger children can color straight over them with the body color.
Color ideas
- Color all four wings bright orange and the round spots black, inspired by a real monarch.
- Make the upper wings one color and the lower wings another, such as yellow on top and orange below.
- Color the long oval body black and fill the spots with white so they look like the small dots on a monarch's wings.
