About this coloring page
A striped fish swims above the sea floor. Two curved lines divide its oval body into three bands, and it has a dot eye, a smile and a triangle tail. Below it, blades of seaweed grow up from the sand and two round pebbles sit on the bottom.
The three body bands are an invitation to make stripes, just like a real clownfish. The seaweed blades are long and narrow, which is good practice for keeping crayon strokes inside a thin shape.
Color ideas
- Color the face band and tail band bright orange and the middle band white, like a classic clownfish.
- Outline each stripe with a thin black line, since real clownfish often have dark edges around their white bands.
- Make the seaweed blades two different greens and the pebbles soft gray.
Did you know?
- Clownfish live among the stinging tentacles of sea anemones, protected by a slimy coating on their skin.
- All clownfish hatch as males, and the biggest fish in a group can change into a female.
- Wild clownfish live on coral reefs in the warm waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
Try this
Draw a sea anemone with lots of wiggly tentacles next to the fish to give it a safe home.
