About this coloring page
A smiling octopus has a big, rounded head with two dot eyes and a happy mouth. Five arms reach down from underneath, the two outer ones curling up at the ends, and two small bubbles float nearby.
Almost all the coloring is in the large head, so this is a very gentle page for the youngest children. The arms are drawn as single lines, and older children can thicken them into wider arms before coloring.
Color ideas
- Color the head a bright purple and add a few darker purple spots on top.
- Make the octopus red or orange, two colors real octopuses can turn when they are excited.
- Trace over each arm with a thick marker in the same color as the head so the arms show up clearly.
Did you know?
- A real octopus has eight arms, each lined with suckers that can feel and taste.
- Octopuses have three hearts and blue blood.
- An octopus can change the color and even the bumpy texture of its skin to blend in with rocks and coral.
Try this
Count the arms you can see in the drawing, then add the missing ones so the octopus has the eight arms a real one has.
