Birds Coloring Pages
These bird pages cover a wide mix of feathered friends: a singing songbird, an owl on a branch, a penguin on the ice, a duck family on the water, a swan, a toucan, and a peacock showing off its full fan of feathers. There is also a nest of eggs with a parent bird keeping watch nearby.
Most of the drawings are simple and rounded, with big bodies and clear outlines that suit preschoolers. The nest and especially the peacock have more small sections, so they are better for older kids or anyone who enjoys detail.
Birds are easy to connect to real life, because most children can spot one just by looking out a window. As you color, you can talk about why birds sing, how penguins swim instead of fly, and how a parent bird keeps eggs warm. A picture book or bird guide makes a good companion for matching colors.

Tips for coloring birds
- Look up a photo of the real bird before starting. Toucans, peacocks, and mallard ducks all have colors that are more surprising than kids expect.
- Feathers often change color gradually. Try a light color on the belly and a darker one on the back and wings, blending where they meet.
- Beaks and feet are usually a different color from the feathers, often yellow, orange, black, or gray, so pick those separately.
- Give water birds a bit of blue or green water around them. A few wavy lines with a blue pencil are enough.
