About this coloring page
A swan glides along the water with its long neck curved up in a graceful arch. Its head has a dot eye and a bill, and a folded wing on its back has a zigzag line through it to show the feathers. Two tall reeds grow on the left, and wavy lines and dashes show the lake.
The swan's body is one large rounded shape, and the long neck is a fun curve to follow with a crayon. The wing and reeds add a few smaller spaces without making the page hard. Most real swans are white, so kids can focus on the bill, the water, and the reeds.
Color ideas
- Leave the swan white or very pale gray, and color the bill bright orange with a black tip.
- Color the two reeds green with brown tips, like cattails.
- Fill in the water between the lines with two shades of blue to show ripples.
Did you know?
- A baby swan is called a cygnet. Many cygnets are fluffy and gray-brown before they grow their white feathers.
- Not all swans are white. Black swans, which come from Australia, have black feathers and red bills.
Try this
