About this coloring page
A smaller present with a looped bow sits on top of a wider box. A single ribbon line runs down through both, and each box has a band across it like the edge of a lid. Curved strokes decorate the bottom box, and a sparkle shines on each side of the pile.
Kids can decide whether the bottom is one big box or two smaller ones sitting side by side, since the ribbon line splits it neatly in half. Either way, the large rectangles are simple to fill and easy to decorate with patterns.
Color ideas
- Give the top box and the bottom box different wrapping colors, like green and orange.
- Color the bow and the ribbon line that runs through both boxes the same shiny gold.
- Turn the curved strokes on the bottom box into a pattern of smiles, waves or rainbows.
Did you know?
- A box shape is called a rectangular prism. It has six flat faces, twelve edges and eight corners.
- Stacks are steadiest with the biggest, widest box at the bottom, because a wide base is harder to tip over.
Try this
Stack real boxes, books or blocks from biggest to smallest, then try it the other way around and see which tower stands up better.
