About this coloring page
A party popper tube points up from the bottom left corner, its body divided into striped sections. Out of its open end burst curling streamers, diamond-shaped confetti, small round dots and four-pointed sparkles, scattering across the page.
The burst of shapes is lively but scattered, so it suits children who can work around small pieces. Coloring each confetti shape a different color makes the explosion look real, and the long curving streamers are fun to trace.
Color ideas
- Color the stripes on the popper tube in alternating bright colors, like red and white.
- Make each diamond of confetti a different color, then add more tiny dots of color all around.
- Trace the curling streamers in bold colors like pink, lime and purple.
Did you know?
- When the string on a party popper is pulled, friction sets off a very small charge that makes the pop and pushes the streamers out.
- The word confetti comes from Italian, where it originally meant little sugar-coated sweets that people tossed during carnival celebrations.
Try this
Make paper confetti using a hole punch and colored scraps, then sprinkle it over the finished page and glue a few pieces in place.
