Dog in a Dog House Coloring Page

EasyAges 3-6Big, open shapes - good for a first crayon.

A pup peeking out of the arched doorway of a dog house, with a name plate over the door.

Getting the page ready…

Pick a color, then tap inside any shape to fill it. Use the brush for the open areas and the eraser to take color back off.

About this coloring page

A puppy looks out from the arched doorway of its wooden dog house. The house has a pointed roof with two lines across it, straight walls on each side, a blank name plate above the door, and a line for the ground. The pup's face fills the doorway, with floppy ears, dot eyes, and a nose.

The blank name plate is the best part. Kids can write their own dog's name, a made-up name, or even their own name there. The roof and walls are big, flat areas, so this page is also nice for trying out stripes of wood or a brick pattern.

Color ideas

  • Write a name on the plate over the door and color the plate a bright color so the name pops.
  • Color the roof red and the walls a wood brown, adding thin lines across the walls to look like boards.
  • Make the dark inside of the doorway gray or deep blue around the pup's face, so it looks like the pup is peeking out of a shady spot.

Did you know?

  • Dogs have lived with people for many thousands of years, longer than any other domestic animal.
  • A good dog house is raised a little off the ground and is big enough for the dog to stand up and turn around.

Try this

Decide on a name for the pup together and write it on the name plate, then draw a food bowl with the same name beside the house.
