About this coloring page
An ice cream van has a giant cone on its roof, with a round scoop on top and crisscross lines on the cone. Under a striped awning there is a wide serving hatch, and the cab at the front has a slanted window. Two wheels roll along the ground.
The striped awning and the patterned cone give older children a few smaller spaces to color carefully. The big rectangular hatch is an open invitation to draw an ice cream seller, a menu board or a line of treats.
Color ideas
- Alternate two colors along the striped awning, such as pink and white or mint and white.
- Make the roof scoop strawberry pink or chocolate brown, and the cone a light tan.
- Draw a menu inside the serving hatch with little ice cream pictures, then color each flavor differently.
Did you know?
- Many ice cream vans play a cheerful tune through a loudspeaker so people nearby know they have arrived.
- The ice cream cone became popular at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, Missouri.
Try this
Invent three new ice cream flavors together, give each one a name and a color, and add them to a menu in the van's window.
