About this coloring page
Three daisy-style flowers rise out of a flower pot on curving stems, with a leaf tucked behind them at the rim. The pot has a wide band at the top and, on the front, a curved line with two small circles beneath it.
The pot itself is big and easy to fill, while the flowers take more care: each has a small center and petals that touch their neighbors. Some children will see a face on the pot β it is fun to decide together whether it is smiling or surprised.
Color ideas
- Give the pot a warm terracotta orange and make the rim band a shade darker.
- Color each of the three flowers a different color β maybe red, purple and yellow β with matching or contrasting centers.
- Turn the curved line and two circles into a cheerful face by coloring the circles in bright blue.
Did you know?
- Flower pots usually have a hole in the bottom so extra water can drain away; roots left sitting in water can rot.
- Terracotta is clay that has been baked in a very hot oven called a kiln, which turns it hard and orange-brown.
- Potted plants need water, light and air, and their roots take in water and nutrients from the soil.
Try this
Give the pot a name and a personality, then tell a short story about where it lives and who waters it.
