About this coloring page

A drone hovers with four spinning rotors, each drawn as a flat oval with a round hub in the middle. Thin arms connect the rotors to a rectangular body with two lines and a small knob on top. A round camera with a lens hangs underneath, and two angled landing legs reach down.

The four rotor ovals are matching shapes, so children can practice coloring the same thing four times in a row. The thin arms are narrow spaces that work best with a sharpened colored pencil.

Color ideas

  • Color the drone body white or black and the four rotor hubs a bright red.
  • Shade the rotor ovals a very pale gray so they look like blurred, spinning blades.
  • Make the camera ball black with a blue lens and a white shine dot.

Did you know?

  • A drone with four rotors is called a quadcopter. Two of its rotors spin one way and two spin the other way, which stops the whole drone from twirling around.
  • A drone steers by making some rotors spin faster than others, which tilts it in the direction it needs to go.
  • People use drones to film from above, check on crops and help search for people who are lost.

Try this

Draw what the drone's camera would see if it flew over your home, like a bird's-eye map of the roof, yard and street.
