About this coloring page
A single tulip stands upright in a tall cup shape with a wavy, pointed top edge. Its stem runs straight down, and two leaves branch off near the bottom – the left one leans up against the side of the bloom.
There are only four main areas to color, which makes this a calm, quick page for little ones. You will notice the stem line carries on up into the cup; children can treat it as a fold between two petals and color right over it.
Color ideas
- Make the cup a bright red and add a touch of yellow along the pointed top edge.
- Color each half of the cup a different shade of pink, using the line up the middle as the dividing line.
- Give the two leaves a blue-green color, which is close to the gray-green of real tulip leaves.

- Tulips grow from bulbs that are planted in the fall and bloom the following spring.

- Many tulip flowers close up at night or when it is cold and open again in the warmth of the day.
Try this
Draw two or three more tulips next to this one so it becomes a row in a garden bed, and color them in a repeating pattern like red, yellow, red.
