About this coloring page
One large daisy fills this page. Eight oval petals circle a round center made of two rings, and a straight stem below carries two pointed leaves, one on each side. There is no background, so the flower stands out clearly on the page.
The petals are wide and evenly spaced, so even a tight fist grip can fill them without much trouble. The ring around the center has a few small gaps where petals cross it – those can simply be colored along with the center.
Color ideas
- Leave the eight petals white and give the center a sunny yellow, just like a real field daisy.
- Color the inner circle of the center orange and the outer ring yellow so it looks like a flower with depth.
- Try alternating petals in two colors, such as pink and purple, to make a pattern around the ring.
Did you know?
- The name "daisy" comes from the Old English for "day's eye," because the common daisy opens in the morning and closes at night.
- What looks like one daisy is really a crowd of tiny flowers: the yellow center is made of many small florets, and each white petal is a separate floret too.
- Daisies belong to the same big plant family as sunflowers.
Try this
Play "loves me, loves me not" on paper: count the petals out loud, one by one, and see which word you land on with eight.
