About this coloring page
A flying saucer hovers in the sky with a domed top and two round eyes peeking out through the glass. Five round lights circle the edge of the wide disc, and a beam of light shines down below it in a broad cone with three streaks inside. Sparkles and a dot twinkle nearby.
The saucer is pure make-believe, so there are no wrong colors. Kids enjoy deciding who the two eyes belong to, and the beam of light is a large, simple shape to fill with a pale glow.
Color ideas
- Make the five rim lights a rainbow, using a different color for each one.
- Color the beam a soft yellow or pale green and draw a cow, a cat or a toy being lifted up inside it.
- Fill the dome with light blue and give the peeking eyes a green alien face around them.
Did you know?
- The term flying saucer became popular in 1947, after a pilot described strange objects in the sky that moved like saucers skipping across water.
- Scientists have not found life on other planets yet, but they keep looking, including by listening for signals with giant radio telescopes.
Try this
Make up a short story about the visitor in the saucer: where it came from, what it wants to see on Earth, and what it eats for breakfast.
